Season II / Synopsis
In this season of OXEN, power and betrayal are once again the focal points, as the secret power elite, Danehof, work to bring down the government and overthrow democracy. Both the retired war-hero Oxen and PET agent Margrethe are forced to go underground, while PET chief Frigg Mossmann gets closer to the goal she has been secretly working towards for some time: exposing the dark men of power. Meanwhile, Danehof’s newest member, Kajsa Corfitzen, has her own unpredictable agenda.

The second season of OXEN, one of the most successful Danish series in recent years is here! The series is written by three-time EMMY winners Mai Brostrøm and Peter Thorsboe and based on the best-selling book series by Jens Henrik Jensen. Jacob Hauberg Lohmann (SHORTA, 2020) stars once again as Niels Oxen with a returning ensemble cast consisting of Josephine Park (BABY FEVER, 2024), Ellen Hillingsø (CALL ME DAD, 2024) and Birgitte Hjort (GAME OF THRONES, 2015).

Season I / Synopsis
Niels Oxen is Denmark’s highest decorated war hero. While probing into the death of his best friend, who died during a military mission in Mali, Oxen is wrongfully arrested for possession of narcotics. Oxen is dishonorably discharged from his military duties and retreats to absolute seclusion in Rold Forest. Yet when the owner of the forest, Hans-Otto Corfitzen, is found dead, Oxen becomes the prime suspect. However, the chief of the Danish Security and Intelligence Service, Frigg Mossman, ends up recruiting Oxen to go undercover against the knowledge of her own organisation and suddenly finds himself in the heart of a deadly web of mysteries.

Season I / Pitch
OXEN is based on the book series by the same title and directed by Jannik Johansen (Borgen, 2011; Follow the Money, 2016) and stars Jacob Lohmann (Shorta, 2020) as Niels Oxen. The returnable six- episode series is created by Emmy-award-winning duo Mai Brostrøm and Peter Thorsboe. Their partnership began in 2000, writing the critically acclaimed series “Unit One”(2002), but the writing duo is also known for their hit series, “The Eagle” (2004-2006) and “The Protectors” (2009-2010), all of which won Emmy Awards for “Best Drama”. To this day, the book series OXEN has been published in 14 countries and has been very well received. In Germany, the books have gone straight to the top of the bestseller list.
