BEGINNINGS
Ane and Thomas are on the verge of being divorced when Ane suffers a stroke, forcing them to stay together and postpone telling their children about the split. Faced with this new reality, the two find hope where they least expect it.
Internationally acclaimed director Jeanette Nordahl returned to Berlinale with her second feature film, BEGINNINGS, starring award-winning Trine Dyrholm (The Girl with the Needle, 2024) and David Dencik (No Time To Die, 2021) in the leading roles. The film is produced by acclaimed production company Snowglobe, who produced Jeanette Nordahl’s feature debut, Wildland (2020), which also celebrated its world premiere at Berlinale in the Panorama section. With BEGINNINGS, Nordahl delivers a deeply moving exploration of identity, love, and resilience. At its heart, the film tells a life-affirming story about losing oneself, only to be found again through the love we give and receive, offering a beacon of hope in even the darkest of moments.
