“Vigdís,” the four-part biopic about Iceland’s iconic former president Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, widely known as the world’s first democratically elected female head of state, will bow Feb. 17 at the Berlinale Series Market Selects, courtesy of REinvent International.

Danish director Mads Hedegaard had to invent new languages for the Stone Age epic “Stranger.” “I have a background in documentaries [‘Cannon Arm and the Arcade Quest’], so it had to feel real to the audience. I was like: ‘We’re not going to buy it if the actors talk in Danish or English,’” he explained to Variety before the film’s world-premiere at Sweden’s Goteborg, where it is the festival’s closing film.

The second season of Oxen, one of the most successful Danish series in recent years, is heading towards post-production . The thriller series is produced by SF Studios in co-production with SquareOne Productions and Nafta Films for TV 2 Denmark and ZDF Germany. REinvent handles international sales. The series will be released on TV 2 Denmark this year and ZDF in 2026.

We are immensely proud to let you know that we Jeanette Nordahl’s BEGINNINGS has been selected for Berlin International Film Festival in the Panorama section. The film is led by Trine Dyrholm and David Dencik. Berlin International Film Festival runs from February 13th-23rd.

The festival will close with the world premiere of the Danish epic revenge thriller “Stranger” set in prehistoric Scandinavia. Mads Hedegaard’s debut feature starring Angela Bundalovic (“Copenhagen Cowboy”) and Danica Curcic (“The Chestnut Man”) is produced by Motor, with REinvent handling sales.

REinvent International Sales has scored several deals across its slate at the American Film Market, including “River of Blood,” “Together 99” and “Second Victims.”

The Finnish film After Us The Flood has received the main award, the Silver Méliès Prize, in the Méliès competition series at the Trieste Science+Fiction film festival. Director Arto Halonen was there to receive the award.

SF Studios and REinvent has boarded the feature film adaptation of the Villain of Villains, based on the best-selling book series by the Swedish YouTube group IJustWantToBeCool. The film is directed by Alain Darborg with a screenplay by Jessika Jankert. Strive Stories produces the film in collaboration with SF Studios and SVT. The film is expected to premiere in Swedish theaters in January 2026.

Today REinvent has launched the poster for the upcoming Norwegian/US feature film DON’T HANG UP from director Alex Herron (LEAVE, 2021; DARK WINDOWS, 2022). DON’T HANG UP is a classic horror film featuring an up and coming cast including Claire McPartland, Brett Curtis and Siri Black Ndiaye in the lead.

Scandinavia’s leading sales outfit REinvent has boarded Norway’s true crime “Escaping Bolivia,” currently filming in Cape Town, South Africa, after an initial shoot in Oslo.

REinvent International Sales has picked up the upcoming futuristic drama feature,  THE SQUIRREL directed by Markus Lehmusruusu. The film stars Miro Lopperi (Codename: Annika, 2023) in the lead and filming will begin next week and will be taking place in Sweden, The Netherlands and Germany.
