Ahead of the upcoming American Film Market (AFM), Reinvent Yellow Sales has acquired the international sales rights to METSIK, a dark and unsettling new psychological horror film from acclaimed director Tallulah Hazekamp Schwab (Mr. K, 2024), starring Bilal Wahib (Paradise Drifters, 2020) and Rea Lest-Liik (Dark Paradise, 2023).
The film follows Enzo, a stressed-out workaholic whose countryside getaway with his girlfriend takes a sinister turn when an accident leads them to an isolated farm. As strange events prevent them from leaving, Enzo becomes increasingly drawn to the farmer’s mysterious daughter, setting in motion a terrifying struggle against forces beyond his understanding.
Blending psychological tension with elements of body horror, METSIK explores themes of desire, manipulation and the loss of control. The film builds an increasingly oppressive atmosphere where the boundaries between reality and the supernatural begin to dissolve.
Director Tallulah Hazekamp Schwab says: “With METSIK I wanted to create a work that felt both intimate and unsettling, blurring the line between realism and the uncanny. We live in a time in which the rules we used to rely on are shifting. When the ground you stand on becomes unstable, it is either run or sink. But in which direction? When the protective layer of what we call the rational falls away, that is where dreams and nightmares begin.”
Synopsis:
Workaholic Enzo has been on the verge of a burn-out. Pressured by his girlfriend, he has agreed to a trip to the countryside. During a hike his foot gets caught in an old-fashioned rabbit trap. Luckily an old farmer comes to his aid. The farm where he lives with his daughter Embla, lacks any form of modern comfort.
There, peculiar things keep happening that prevent the couple from leaving and Enzo finds himself drawn to Embla’s primal energy. As he gives in to her sexual advances a mysterious power is unleashed. Locked in passion, he panics. Did his skin merge with hers?
Finding himself a pawn in Embla’s plan to escape the farm, Enzo must fight ancient forces that threaten his very existence.

Directed by Tallulah Hazekamp Schwab and written by Gerry de Hoogh, METSIK features an international cast including Bilal Wahib, Rea Lest-Liik, Gaite Jansen and Tõnu Kark.
The film is produced by Ellen Havenith for PRPL, with Katrin Kissa of Homeless Bob Production serving as co-producer, with support from Creative Europe-MEDIA, Netherlands Film Fund, Netherlands Film Production Incentive, Estonian Film Institute, Film Estonia and Eurimages. Currently in post-production, METSIK is expected to receive a local theatrical release in spring 2027, with Reinvent Yellow Sales handling international sales.
