Arto Halonen is putting the finishing touches to his latest feature, an eco-sci-fi tale titled After Us, the Flood, Cineuropa has learnt.
The Finnish filmmaker, active in the fields of both fiction and documentary, debuted with his feature Princess in 2010, a drama that racked up 300,000 domestic admissions and proved to be one of the most-watched films in Finnish theatres that decade. Other prominent works of his include the Finnish-Croatian co-production A Patriotic Man [+] (2013), the psychological thriller The Guardian Angel [+] (2018) and his latest family drama, Arnold Cautious and the Happiness Stone (2023).

The internationally acclaimed director Lisa Langseth's new Swedish feature film The Dance Club has now begun filming. The lead roles are played by Nils Wetterholm and Alva Bratt with Pernilla August, Evelyn Mok, Matias Varela and Julia Franzén in the ensemble. The movie is set to premiere in Swedish cinemas in early fall 2025. Meta Film produces the film with SF Studios distributing the film in the Nordics. REinvent handles international sales.

Jokinen will direct the historical drama with Elias Salonen and Eero Aho starring as leads. Johanna Enäsuo and Marko Röhr, at ReelMedia, produce the film.
