In 1998, the world-famous playwright Lars Norén and producer Isa Stenberg were invited to a prison to collaborate with three long-term convicts. The prison board is dazzled by Norén’s fame and regards theatre-work as rehabilitation. The project evolves into an unstoppable process where all security concerns are pushed aside and all control mechanisms fall away. The result is a legendary theatre performance, a heated public debate, and a double murder that still today is an open wound in Swedish contemporary history.
