THE DARK HEART directed by Gustav Möller selected for Sundance Film Festival

We are immensely proud to let you know that Gustav Möller will be returning to Sundance Film Festival with his new series THE DARK HEART which will celebrate its world premiere in the Indie Episodic section.

Based on the best selling novel of the same name by Joakim Palmkvist and inspired by real events, THE DARK HEART is a psychological drama thriller with an acclaimed Swedish cast. The series has been envisioned by two of Sweden’s most prominent names, screenwriter Oskar Söderlund (Easy Money, 2021) and director Gustav Möller (The Guilty, 2018) and tells the story of a forbidden love and a tragic murder.

Rikke Ennis, CEO at REinvent comments on the selection: “From the very beginning, we knew that THE DARK HEART would be something very special. Gustav Möller’s directorial skills and personal style really shines through, as the series lets audiences into a tension-filled and character-driven universe, supported by the amazingly talented cast. Today’s prominent selection for the Sundance Film Festival really emphasises the uniqueness of this series.”

“THE DARK HEART has been very well received by the international market from the first launch of the teaser and script. Several negotiations are ongoing and the series has been sold to Poland and Spain at an early stage. A series of this qualiber and quality will travel the world and we are very excited about the collaboration”, says Helene Aurø Sales & Marketing Director at REinvent International Sales.

Producer of the series for FLX, Anna Carlsten adds “We are extremely proud and happy about the invitation from the festival!  It’s an honour to premiere this unique series at Sundance, and we’re looking forward to meeting the audience in Park City.”
