We are very proud and excited to announce that Lukas Moodysson’s highly-anticipated TV series Gösta has been selected for BFI London Film Festival 2019, where it will be screened in Special Presentation as one of eleven cherrypicked projects by major international directors. Gösta premiered exclusively across HBO Europe’s territories on July 1st. and is HBO Europe’s first Nordic original production.
Gösta screenings – UK premiere:
– Monday Oct. 7th at 20:30 – Venue: BFI NFT1 (Attended by Lukas Moodysson)
– Wednesday Oct. 9th at 15:30 – Venue: Vue West End (Screen 5)
Gösta is a 28-year old child psychologist who gets his first job in a small rural town. He wants to be the kindest person in the world and help everyone he meets. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes not. Gösta is the perfect combination of humor and tragedy.
The 12-part half-hour comedy series is written and directed by Lukas Moodysson and produced by Memfis Film. Gösta has already attracted a lot of attention from international medias and in HBO Europe territories the series has already been a great succes.

Lukas Moodysson is a ground-breaking Swedish writer and director known for his heartfelt and uncompromising storytelling. His directorial breakthrough Show Me Love (Fucking Åmål) in 1998 was internationally acclaimed by the critics and won four Guldbagge Awards, Sweden’s most prestigious film accolade.
