The Man
Regine and Askild, two researchers, monitor the mountain „The Man“ when all instruments suddenly fail as it shows signs of movement. With a violent storm approaching, they climb the mountain to investigate. In the darkness, they hear creaking and something else: heavy footsteps and an inhuman roar. The next day, they meet Ståle, who claims his girlfriend is missing in the mountains. Askild goes with him and never returns. Alone, Regine finds blood and fresh bear tracks, and realizes Ståle’s story doesn’t add up. Trapped between an unstable mountain, a predator, and a man she cannot trust, she must fight to survive.
THE MAN is a disaster thriller set on an existing, closely monitored mountain in Norway. The film builds tension at the intersection of science and mythology, humanity and nature. The Man is both a mountain and an entity — a force that mirrors human destructiveness. As the mountain collapses in the climax, nature unleashes its full power: the bear, the storm, and the murderer converge, and survival depends on instinct rather than control. THE MAN is to be directed by the seasoned Stig Svendsen (Viking Wolf, 2022) and produced by the experienced team at Paradox.
