The Emigrants
The Emigrants is the story of Kristina Nilsson, a mother who leaves a povertystricken Sweden with her family in the 1850s and sets out on a long, dangerous journey, hoping to find a better life for herself and her children in America.
From internationally acclaimed director, Erik Poppe comes epic period drama and winner of The Andreas Award at Haugesund Film Festival 2022, THE EMIGRANTS. The film stars Lisa Carlehed (The Tunnel, 2019) and Gustav Skarsgård (Vikings, 2020) in the lead. Further cast include international pop-star Tove Lo and Sofia Helin (The Bridge, 2018). The film is based on Vilhelm Moberg’s much loved and best selling suite of novels - successfully adapted by Jan Troell in 1971 into a film which was nominated for five Academy Awards and won two Golden Globes.
