We are immensely proud to let you know that we have picked up the upcoming second feature film from internationally acclaimed director, Jeanette Nordahl. Led by Trine Dyrholm and David Dencik, BEGINNINGS will start shooting on April 29th.
BEGINNINGS is Jeanette Nordahl’s second feature film. Jeanette Nordahl enjoyed international acclaim for her debut feature, WILDLAND (2020) which world premiered at the Berlinale, where it opened in the Panorama section. She recently directed the Canneséries selected series, “The Dreamer – Becoming Karen Blixen” (2022) starring Connie Nielsen and latest the upcoming sequel to the acclaimed BBC tv-series “Responder” (2024) starring Martin Freeman.

Synopsis
Ane and Thomas are in the middle of their divorce but they haven’t told the kids yet. Thomas is on the verge of moving in with his new girlfriend Stine when Ane suddenly suffers a severe stroke. They decide to stay together for now, but as she struggles to get back on her feet, Ane and Thomas must come to terms with the realities of their new life and make an important choice for the family.
The film stars Trine Dyrholm alongside David Dencik – reunited on screen again for the first time in eighteen years. Their first appearance together was in Pernille Fischer Christensen’s critically acclaimed “A Soap” in 2006 which was awarded a Silver Bear at Berlin International Film Festival.
Trine Dyrholm is one of the most sought after and acclaimed Scandinavian actresses of today. In 2016 she won the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival for her role in Thomas Vinterberg’s “The Commune”, her other credits include Susanne Bier’s Academy Award winning “In A Better World” (2010) and Sundance Audience Award winning “Queen of Hearts” (2019) for which she also won the Best Acting award at Göteborg Film Festival. In 2023, she starred in Michael Noer’s acclaimed feature, Birthday Girl and lastly she appears as Queen Anne in the D.C. Moore series, “Mary & George” (2024).
David Dencik is a highly acclaimed Scandinavian actor, who has enjoyed international acclaim and landed major roles in English-language films and series including James Bond feature “No Time to Die” (2021), “Chernobyl” (2019), “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” (2011) and “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” (2011).
