Ordinary People

After graduating from acting school, Juliana and Vala, best friends forever, envisioned a glamorous acting career ahead of them. However, reality kicked in and their paths parted when one of them, Juliana stopped acting and is now a stay at home mother of two. She’s married to the active entrepreneur, Tomas, who recently sold his shares in an internet company and is trying to find his new path in life. They love each other dearly but for Julia, Tomas’ spontaneity and irresponsibility often makes her feel like he’s the third child in the house. The other, Vala, is a struggling actress living in the garage of Juliana and Tomas’ house. She hasn’t come to terms with reality and is still pursuing a hopeless acting career in amateur theatres. She’s single and hasn’t found love until Arnar, the friendly, vegan, non-drinking mechanic, comes along. They have totally different perspectives towards life and Vala pretends to share Arnar’s views to impress him, an obvious recipe for disaster. After Vala gets fired from the theatre she unexpectedly gets the chance to host her own primetime talk show - the catch is that she has to get Juliana to co-host it with her. After reluctantly agreeing Juliana becomes the star of the show leaving Vala, with her hopeless acting dreams, extremely frustrated, putting a great deal of stress on their relationship. Their romantic relationships are heavily impacted as well, further creating an endless amount of problems to deal with - just like most of us Ordinary People.
